About Panvel Sansthan

The Sanctum Sanctorum of this beautiful temple is graced by a 5ft 5" /bronze life like Murti of Sri Sai Baba. The temple opens at 3.00 a.m. sharp and echoes with the sacred chanting of Mantras. Then begins the ritual of waking up of the Lord by chanting of Bhupali, Suprabhatam, Kakad Aarati, various Namavalis etc. The Murti is then bathed with Ganga Jal and finally adorned with a new robe, jewels and flowers for the devotees to obtain Baba's darshan and blessings.

However it is Thursday's which are /breathtaking. In the midst of a large gathering of devotees and with the chanting of Vedic hymns Pujya Gurudev commences the Maha Abhishek of Baba's Murti with Ganga Jal.



This is then followed by doing Abhishek with 2500 litres of filtered water (Jal) which is collected for distribution among the various devotees who specially come to attend this event. This Jal is also sent to various parts of India and to various centres all over the world. This is followed by Abhishek with 108 litres of milk, chandan, vibhuti etc. After this devotees are allowed to perform Abhishek of Baba's Murti. < This 2500 litres of Abhishek Jal of Baba is taken by various devotees for their daily consumption. This Abhishek Jal has miraculous curative properties & has cured various terminally ill patients in India & a/broad from their ailments. Even after many years of storage this Jal retains the same fragrance & is fit for human consumption. This is truly a miracle of Shirdi Sai Baba at Panvel Mandir. This Thursday puja ends after Archana & Maha Mangal Aarati which is then followed by the Palkhi procession of Shirdi Sai Baba's Murti which is indeed a /breathtaking sight. A vi/brant Utsav Murti of Sai Baba, on which extensive daily pujas are performed, is placed on a florally bedecked Palkhi . The procession is led out of the temple by traditional Nadaswaram musicians who are followed by nine devotees carrying on their heads silver kalash with coconut . Four pall bearers carry this Palkhi to the ringing of cymbals and the singing of the glory of Baba.

  1. The first vi/brant Samadhi contains the Sacred asthis of Sri Sai Leelavathy Mata who is most reverentially known for her over 33 years of unique Guru - Seva & Guru - Bhakti. Her pious asthis have been ceremoniously interred in this Samadhi personally by Pujya Gurudev.
  2. The second Samadhi is that of Pomeranian known as Sri Sai Pandu Maharaj. Those who were fortunate to have seen him will ever remember his dintless devotion & undivided true love for his Master and all the devotees. His 12 years old mortal remains have been interred in this Samadhi with full vedic rites personally by Pujya Gurudev.
  3. The third most significant Samadhi is that of H.H. Swami Karunanandaji Maharaj (Pujya Gurudev's father & Guru) who was a Maha Gayatri Mantra Siddha, Tatvadarshi, /brahma Gnani and a great Karma Yogi. Among his many writings is God Experiences which is a must for all aspirants and has been translated into various languages.
  4. The fourth Samadhi is that of Sai Tiger Baba a German collie who did yeoman service to the Sansthan for about 18 years by keeping awake day & night to guard the premises of the Sansthan during its construction and thereafter. His mortal remains have been personally interred in this Samadhi as per Vedic rites by Pujya Gurudev. Floral offerings and Aarati at the Samadhi-sthal is followed by a ceremonious march past, gun salute and fireworks.

The procession then winds its way back to the temple stopping on the way to offer prayers to a unique Statue of Lord Hanuman which moves its limbs and eyes from side to side and sings the praise of Lord Rama " Sri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram "

Then the procession passes by the beautiful Sai Musical Fountain Garden which plays the famous Shirdi Darshan coordinated with the lights and water fountain.

Finally the Palkhi procession enters the temple premises.

This is then followed by Maha Charan Puja of Pujya Gurudev's Padukas.

Prasad is served by the Sri Sai Mata Bhojnalaya which is a hygienic canteen facility which serves tea, coffee, snacks and meals to the devotees and visitors at highly subsidised rates.

In case you are unable to be present for Thursday Puja & Abhishek, the same on your behalf can be organised by the Sansthan and the Prasad can be received by post, as many of the devotees do.

For devotees desiring to attend the early morning Puja the Sansthan has built an ultra modern residential accommodation Sri Sai Pandu Kutir which is a 3 storey building with dormitories having full bath & toilet facilities and Sri Sai Mata Kutir, a 2 storey building which houses a large hall on the ground floor which can accommodate a large number of devotees at various functions of the Sansthan, there is also a large hall on the 1 st floor and residential accommodation on the 2 nd floor which has A/C rooms with attached bathrooms.

In Sri Sai Mata Kutir, there are 10 special A/C rooms on the second floor, suitably built for NRI devotees.

You can also participate in this Puja and Abhishek even if you are unable to visit the Ashram personally. This Puja can be preformed on your behalf & prasad will be sent to you. You can contact the Sansthan office for further details.

In the premises of the Sansthan you will find an ultra modern Gaushala with high yielding Holstein cows and their calves. This is equipped with automatic milking machines and water drinking bowls. The pure milk collected here is served twice daily but only to the poor children residing in the vicinity. Not a single drop is used by the inmates of the Ashram.

The Sansthan also runs the Sri Bhagawati English Medium Primary School in its premises which is solely for the benefit of poor children. In addition to this is a free medical dispensary which is manned by qualified lady doctors who dispense Allopathic, Ayurvedic and Homeopathic medicines for all the poor and needy.

Pujya Gurudev now wishes to set up an Elders' Home with a full fledged hospital for looking after the destitute and needy.
